Discuss Your Immigration Case in Russian
For many clients, speaking Russian is not simply a convenience. A person's immigration history may involve dates, prior applications, border encounters, family relationships, court proceedings or events that happened years ago. Being able to explain those facts naturally can make the consultation more useful and help identify questions that need closer review.
Our Brooklyn office serves Russian-speaking individuals and families in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and handles federal immigration matters for clients nationwide. The goal is straightforward: you should be able to understand what is happening in your case and communicate the facts without a language barrier.
Консультация и общение по делу могут проходить на русском языке, а документы и заявления для иммиграционных органов США подготавливаются в соответствии с требованиями конкретного дела.
Immigration Matters We Handle
Russian-speaking clients come to the firm with many different immigration situations. Some are preparing an application with USCIS. Others already have an Immigration Court case, an ICE issue or a complicated history that affects more than one type of immigration benefit.
- Asylum applications and defensive asylum in Immigration Court
- Deportation and removal defense, including appeals and motions
- ICE detention and immigration bond matters
- Green cards and adjustment of status
- Family immigration and family-based petitions
- VAWA self-petitions and related humanitarian immigration matters
- Citizenship and naturalization, nonimmigrant visas and other immigration matters
Asylum and Immigration Court Cases
Asylum and removal cases can require a client to describe events that are personal, complicated or traumatic. The chronology matters. So do the words used to describe what happened, what the person feared and what was previously stated in applications, interviews or court proceedings. Discussing those facts in Russian can make it easier to work through the history before testimony and written submissions are prepared.
If you are already in removal proceedings, the court case should be reviewed together with any pending or possible immigration petition. An asylum application, family petition, VAWA filing or other matter does not automatically replace or stop an Immigration Court proceeding.
Green Cards and Family Immigration
Family immigration cases may involve an I-130 petition, adjustment of status, consular processing, marriage evidence, financial sponsorship or prior immigration issues. We work with Russian-speaking petitioners and beneficiaries so both the family relationship and the immigration history can be reviewed before the case moves forward.
ICE Detention and Urgent Immigration Matters
When a relative is detained by ICE, families often have to gather information quickly: the person's A-number, detention location, immigration history, court notices and prior filings. Russian-speaking family members can communicate with our office directly while we evaluate the immigration case and the available custody procedures.
Documents in Russian
Immigration cases frequently rely on civil records, court papers, medical records, police documents, letters and other evidence originally issued in Russian. Documents submitted to USCIS in a foreign language generally require a complete English translation with the translator's certification that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate into English. Our office can help identify which documents are relevant to the immigration filing and what translation requirements apply.
